ok, I don't you if you've heard about these books, but they are about the most amazing books I have ever read in my entire life. I am not joking. I actually have a physical addiction to these books, and I'm not too sure if it's healthy. Anyways, it's a quartet (the fourth one called Breaking Dawn will be out on August 2nd at 12:01 am. You know I am SO going to be in line to get it at midnight) and I don't really know how to describe it. My friend and I were just talking about it today, and no matter how hard you try you just can't explain how amazing these books are. I will try for the sakes of those who haven't a clue about these books, but my explanation will do it no justice. Take that as a guarantee.
Twilight is sort of about vampires, sort of about a regular girl, and sort of about love. The main character, Bella, tells the story in first person and she falls in love with a vampire named Edward. No, I did not just give anything away...that is not the major plotline at all. It's not even a minor one.
Anyways, it's always a struggle for Edward to control his true nature when he's around Bella, even though he and his family are what they like to call "vegetarians". They don't prey on humans; instead they hunt animals, just like the rest of us humans. When other not-so-vegetarian vampires come around, danger is everywhere. And for someone like Bella who seems to have a magnet for trouble, that could have disastrous consequences.
READ TWILIGHT AND YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT. I guess I can say it's more of a novel for women (I convinced one of my guy friends to read it and he does not have very many positive things to say) but everyone should at least give it a chance. I admit I like a lot of books, but this trumps all. Even Harry Potter (I love Harry Potter). So read it. It'll be the best thing that ever happened to you.
p.s. It's not just a novel for young adults. I really believe anyone of any age would love it.
Excerpt from Twilight:
Of three things I was absolutely certain:
First, Edward was a vampire.
Second, there was a part of him, and I wasn't sure how dominant that part was, that thirsted for my blood.
And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.
